Rosa Rugosa, Rubra

Prolific cultivar yields a delectable bounty of large red fruit packed with vitamin C. Self-fertile 4-5 foot plants with fragrant purple-rose flowers will bloom from summer into fall. Late in the season blooms will transform into large, deep-red rose hips. The tasty rose hips may be eaten fresh, dried for tea or made into a delicious jelly. Prefers full to half-day sun and prospers in most soils. Untroubled by pests or diseases.
